My Hangul Name is a free online service that expresses people’s names from around the world in Hangul based on pronunciation. Users can view and share their Hangul names in various fonts and designs. It is powered by Wehome, the only Korea's government-authorized home sharing platform
SEOUL--(뉴스와이어)--Wehome (Wehome.me), Korea’s only government-authorized home-sharing platform under a special permit, has launched My Hangul Name, a free service that allows people around the world to express their names in Hangul in celebration of Hangul Day.
My Hangul Name suggests a Hangul spelling that closely reflects the pronunciation of a user’s name in English and other languages. Users can view their Hangul names in various Hangul fonts and designs, save them as images, and share them with others.
The service was originally developed for Wehome’s global inbound guests visiting Korea, so they could see their names written in Hangul and make their trip to Korea more memorable. Wehome has now opened the service to everyone, regardless of whether they use Wehome, in order to share the cultural value of Hangul with a wider global audience.
Wehome has also promoted Hangul through its K-POPSTAY project, which connects global K-pop fans with local communities in Korea. In particular, at K-POPSTAY BUSAN 2026, Wehome introduced a Hangul sticker challenge where participants used Hangul consonant and vowel stickers to create their own names, BTS members’ names, song titles, and words such as “Borahae.”
Wehome expects that the simple act of seeing and sharing one’s own name in Hangul will help people around the world feel closer to the beauty of Hangul and Korean culture.
“Hangul is Korea’s writing system, but it is also a great intellectual heritage that people around the world can learn from and enjoy,” said Dr. SanKu Jo, CEO of Wehome. “We hope that the experience of expressing one’s own name in Hangul will lead to greater interest in Hangul and Korean culture.”
“Wehome aims to be more than a place to book accommodations,” he added. “We want to become a local platform that connects international guests with the lifestyle experiences that can only be found in Korea — including Hangul, K-pop, food, beauty, local neighborhoods, and culture. My Hangul Name is one example of the K-LIFE sharing experience that Wehome is building.”
Wehome plans to add more languages, Hangul fonts, and Hangul art features to My Hangul Name. The company also plans to connect the service with offline and online programs such as Hangul name cards, stickers, tourism souvenirs, educational content, and social media challenges.
The service is also expected to contribute to Wehome’s global brand awareness. As international users create and share their Hangul names, they can naturally discover Wehome and Korea’s local travel services.
My Hangul Name is available for free without registration at www.myhangulname.com.
